height: 89px\" \/>In this year&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elevator2010.org\">Space Elevator Games<\/a>, no fewer than five teams from Canada have entered the Climber\/Power Beaming competition.\u00a0 Returning from last year are\u00a0teams from\u00a0the University of Saskatchewan <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usask.ca\/groups\/usst\/\">(USST)<\/a> and\u00a0from the University of British Columbia <a href=\"http:\/\/www.snowstar.ca\/\">(Snowstar)<\/a>.\u00a0 New Canadian entries this year include the <a href=\"http:\/\/space-elevator.mcgill.ca\/\">McGill Space Elevator Team<\/a> (from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec), the Queens Space Elevator\u00a0Team (from Queens University\u00a0in Kingston, Ontario) and the University of Alberta Space Elevator Racing Team (from the University of Alberta in Edmonton).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" width=\"96\" src=\"\/media\/UniversityOfAlbertaSpaceElevatorRacingTeamLogo.jpg\"  height=\"100\" style=\"width: 96px; height: 100px\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" width=\"164\" src=\"\/media\/McGillSpaceElevatorTeamLogo.jpg\"  height=\"100\" style=\"width: 164px; height: 100px\" \/>USST has to be considered the early favorite for this competition.\u00a0 They finished first in the competitions in 2005 and 2006 and missed out on the prize money last year by just two seconds.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m personally very glad that we have so many entries from north of the border.\u00a0 My wife is a Canadian citizen so fully half of my extended family are Canucks.\u00a0 In addition, this\u00a0land of\u00a0Moose, Hockey,\u00a0and Mounted Police\u00a0brews a plethora of fine beer.\u00a0 Now, I&#8217;m an American and I love my country (and my beer), but it is my personal opinion that most American beers are not up to world standards.\u00a0 So, I would take it as a very great personal <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" width=\"85\" src=\"\/media\/QueensSpaceElevatorTeamLogo.gif\"  height=\"85\" style=\"width: 85px;
