{"id":607,"date":"2007-05-03T13:37:07","date_gmt":"2007-05-03T18:37:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.spaceelevatorblog.com\/?p=607"},"modified":"2007-05-03T21:48:10","modified_gmt":"2007-05-04T02:48:10","slug":"microdosimeter-flies-on-midstar-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.spaceelevatorblog.com\/?p=607","title":{"rendered":"Microdosimeter flies on MidSTAR-1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" width=\"107\" src=\"\/media\/NSBRILogo.jpg\"  height=\"105\" style=\"width: 107px; height: 105px\" \/>In February, I had <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spaceelevatorblog.com\/?p=541\">blogged<\/a> about a new microdosimeter being developed by the National Space Biomedical Research Institute.\u00a0 A few days ago, I received their latest newsletter.\u00a0 In it there was a story about how it had been launched in March of this year as part of a multi-experiment payload aboard MidSTAR-1.<\/p>\n<p>From their newsletter: <em>&#8220;The goal of the MIDN (microdosimeter instrument)\u00a0project is to develop a rugged, portable, lightweight radiation detection instrument that will measure the three forms of space radiation \u2013 solar flares, trapped particle radiation and galactic cosmic rays.
