{"id":351,"date":"2006-10-01T14:00:45","date_gmt":"2006-10-01T19:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.spaceelevatorblog.com\/?p=351"},"modified":"2006-10-04T22:11:43","modified_gmt":"2006-10-05T03:11:43","slug":"two-new-dr-bradley-edwards-books-due-out-soon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.spaceelevatorblog.com\/?p=351","title":{"rendered":"Two new Dr. Bradley Edwards books due out soon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\"  src=\"\/media\/bradleyedwards.jpg\" class=\"alignleft\" \/>I learned today that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bradleyedwards.info\/\">Dr. Bradley Edwards<\/a> is in the final stages of releasing two new books relating to the Space Elevator.\u00a0 The first, written in conjunction with Phil Ragan, is a book dedicated to explaining the concept of the Space Elevator to the layman.\u00a0 It&#8217;s entitled &#8220;<em>Leaving the Planet by Space Elevator<\/em>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>The second book is co-edited by Dr. Edwards and David Raitt and is\u00a0a collection of Sci-Fi stories\u00a0resulting\u00a0from the European Space Agency&#8217;s (ESA) contest for young authors who wanted to write about the Space Elevator.\u00a0 It&#8217;s\u00a0entitled &#8220;<em>Running the Line<\/em>&#8220;.\u00a0 I had posted about this contest earlier.\u00a0 The ESA story about this contest can be found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.esa.int\/esaCP\/SEMOCAXJD1E_index_0.html\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Edwards is planning on bringing several cases of these books to the upcoming <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elevator2010.org\">Space Elevator Games<\/a> so you can get an autographed copy of these books\u00a0there (which is what I&#8217;m planning on doing).\u00a0 They will also be available via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\">Amazon<\/a> (and other places, I&#8217;m sure) and when they&#8217;re out, I&#8217;ll post a follow-up.<\/p>\n<p>This is great news &#8211; I&#8217;m really looking forward to both of these books!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I learned today that Dr. Bradley Edwards is in the final stages of releasing two new books relating to the Space Elevator.\u00a0 The first, written in conjunction with Phil Ragan, is a book dedicated to explaining the concept of the Space Elevator to the layman.\u00a0 It&#8217;s entitled &#8220;Leaving the Planet by Space Elevator&#8220;.
