{"id":1544,"date":"2012-09-24T01:33:40","date_gmt":"2012-09-24T06:33:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.spaceelevatorblog.com\/?p=1544"},"modified":"2012-09-24T01:33:41","modified_gmt":"2012-09-24T06:33:41","slug":"nasa-the-space-elevator-challenges-and-the-kansas-city-space-pirates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.spaceelevatorblog.com\/?p=1544","title":{"rendered":"NASA, the Space Elevator Challenges and the Kansas City Space Pirates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over at one of the NASA websites, there is a very nice write-up about the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kcspacepirates.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kansas City Space Pirates (KCSP)<\/a>\u00a0and how they performed in one of the NASA Centennial Challenges (the Power-Beaming competition). \u00a0You can read it\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/offices\/oct\/early_stage_innovation\/centennial_challenges\/after_challenge\/atc_space_pirates.html\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>&#8230; \u00a0The captain of the KCSP team, Brian Turner, commented <em>&#8216;We got some positive press on the actual NASA web site.
