{"id":1523,"date":"2012-04-24T11:09:14","date_gmt":"2012-04-24T16:09:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.spaceelevatorblog.com\/?p=1523"},"modified":"2012-05-01T14:25:15","modified_gmt":"2012-05-01T19:25:15","slug":"space-elevator-conference-moves-to-the-boeing-museum-of-flight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.spaceelevatorblog.com\/?p=1523","title":{"rendered":"Space Elevator Conference moves to the Museum of Flight!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.museumofflight.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/2012SEC\/tn_Museum_of_Flight_Logo_wBorder.png\" class=\"alignright\"  \/><\/a>ISEC is very proud to announce that this year&#8217;s Space Elevator Conference, the first organized by ISEC, will be held at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, Washington.\u00a0 Conference dates are August 25-27.<\/p>\n<p>The official Press Announcement:<\/p>\n<h3>For 2012, the Space Elevator Conference moves to The Museum of Flight!<\/h3>\n<p><em>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.isec.org\" target=\"_blank\">International Space Elevator Consortium<\/a> is proud to announce that the 2012 Space Elevator Conference will now be held at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.museumofflight.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Museum of Flight<\/a> in Seattle, Washington.\u00a0 The conference dates remain the same, August 25th through August 27th, 2012, with the Family Science Fest being held on August 25th.\u00a0 Come experience learning, brainstorming, and working together surrounded by an atmosphere of invention and discovery!\u00a0 Conference and family science fest attendees will be stimulated and energized by the planes hanging from the Great Gallery glass ceiling or watching a jet take off from the Boeing Field runway.\u00a0 This will be a fantastic new venue for the conference!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>3-Day Technical Conference <\/strong><br \/>\nThe theme of this year&#8217;s technical conference is \u201cOperating and Maintaining a Space Elevator\u201d.\u00a0 There is still time to submit your abstracts and papers for the technical conference.\u00a0 The abstract deadline has been extended to May 18th (the draft and final paper deadlines are still the same).\u00a0 Abstracts and papers are coming in steadily and we want to be sure we have a great set of presentations for the technology, business, legal, and outreach sessions.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nFamily Science Fest<\/strong><\/em> <em><br \/>\nThe Family Science Fest on Saturday, August 25th will also be held at the Museum of Flight.\u00a0 This event is open to the public and is included in the Museum of Flight admission price.\u00a0 The Family Science Fest includes Space Elevator 101 and 201 presentations, a youth robotics competition, exhibits from universities and science clubs, and much more.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Registration, Lodging, and More Info Coming Soon<\/strong><br \/>\nMore details of the conference technical program and the Family Science Fest will be posted on the conference website (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.spaceelevatorconference.org\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/spaceelevatorconference.org<\/a>) in early May including registration, lodging, and other information as it becomes available.\u00a0 Please note the the conference web site will be updated with a new look and feel the end of April.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The Space Elevator is one of the most magnificent Engineering projects ever conceived.\u00a0 It promises abundant access to space and a multitude of benefits for humanity.\u00a0 Come to the Conference and hear presentations and discussion with people working to make the Space Elevator a reality!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>So, mark your calendars and make your reservations.\u00a0 This Conference promises to be the most exciting ever!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISEC is very proud to announce that this year&#8217;s Space Elevator Conference, the first organized by ISEC, will be held at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, Washington.\u00a0 Conference dates are August 25-27.
