{"id":1471,"date":"2011-03-08T20:46:26","date_gmt":"2011-03-09T02:46:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.spaceelevatorblog.com\/?p=1471"},"modified":"2011-03-08T20:47:53","modified_gmt":"2011-03-09T02:47:53","slug":"the-engineers-pulse","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.spaceelevatorblog.com\/?p=1471","title":{"rendered":"The Engineer&#8217;s Pulse"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/media\/tn_EngineersPulseLogo.png\" width=\"145\" class=\"alignleft\" height=\"110\"  \/>There is a new blog out there that I would like to inform all of my reader&#8217;s about &#8211; &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/theengineerspulse.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Engineer&#8217;s Pulse<\/a>&#8220;.\u00a0 It is authored by Stephen Cohen.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Stephen Cohen, earned his Bachelor\u2019s (2004) and Master\u2019s (2006) Degrees in Mechanical Engineering at McGill University.\u00a0 His thesis describes the dynamics of a space elevator, and he has published several scientific papers on the topic.\u00a0 He worked at MDA Space as a Structural Engineer, where he helped to design space antenna payloads to survive the rigours of space launch and the orbital environment.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Stephen presented a paper on tether dynamics at the 2009 Space Elevator Conference, a paper that was well done and was very well received.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, Stephen submitted an article for our upcoming ISEC Journal.\u00a0 The article was rejected, sadly, not because it was poorly done or anything like that, but because it was &#8220;too general&#8221;.\u00a0 However, Stephen has recently <a href=\"http:\/\/theengineerspulse.blogspot.com\/2011\/03\/space-elevator-past-present-future.html\" target=\"_blank\">posted this article<\/a>, &#8220;The Space Elevator: Past, Present, Future&#8221; on his website and I highly recommend both it and his blog in general.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There is a new blog out there that I would like to inform all of my reader&#8217;s about &#8211; &#8220;The Engineer&#8217;s Pulse&#8220;.\u00a0 It is authored by Stephen Cohen.
