USST was unable to climb today.\u00a0 KCSP, after some delay caused by a higher priority air mission, made multiple runs.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, the KCSP Climber never made it to the top.\u00a0 They seemed to climb for about 3 minutes and would then just ‘lose it’.\u00a0 It’s useless for me to speculate as to why, so I won’t try.\u00a0 I do know that during their first attempt, they experienced a ‘dark climber’ condition (i.e. their laser lost tracking).\u00a0 I don’t know if that was what happened in subsequent runs.\u00a0 I’m sure there will be some (more) midnight oil burned by the KCSP team tonight working on this.<\/p>\n
So, the summary is this.\u00a0 LaserMotive is sitting pretty.\u00a0 They’ve qualified for the $900K prize.<\/p>\n
Tomorrow is the third and final round of the Games.\u00a0 Up first is USST, then the Space Pirates and finally LaserMotive for their third and final Climb window.\u00a0 If any team passes on their chance tomorrow, they won’t get another one.<\/p>\n
First climb window is from 7:00am to 9:00am, second window is from 9:00am to 11:00am and the third and final window is from 9:00am to 1:00pm.<\/p>\n
