{"id":1160,"date":"2009-03-14T13:04:10","date_gmt":"2009-03-14T19:04:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.spaceelevatorblog.com\/?p=1160"},"modified":"2009-03-14T13:04:10","modified_gmt":"2009-03-14T19:04:10","slug":"japan-space-elevator-assocation-to-host-its-own-space-elevator-games","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.spaceelevatorblog.com\/?p=1160","title":{"rendered":"Japan Space Elevator Assocation to host its own Space Elevator Games"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" width=\"200\" src=\"\/media\/JSEALogo.jpg\"  height=\"67\" style=\"width: 200px; height: 67px\" \/>I received this word from Shuichi Ohno, Chairman of the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jsea.jp\">Japan Space Elevator Association <\/a>(JSEA):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>We at JSEA have institutionalized from private organization to Aggregate Corporation in this month, and now, we are planning to hold a new type of space elevator climber competition in Japan\u00a0on August 8-9.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This competition is focused especially on climber mechanism, a mechanism for faster climbing speeds.\u00a0 We will use 12V battery for power, making it\u00a0easier to join than the Power Beaming competition\u00a0in USA.\u00a0 Entry fee will be $100 (and insurance fee) for 1 team.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We already have started promotion of this competition in Japan, and 3-4 teams from 2 universities have already expressed their interest.\u00a0 Another several universities are now considering.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We have to start\u00a0small due to our limited\u00a0budget, but we will try to hold\u00a0a competition\u00a0every 6 months.
