<\/a>Oh joy of joys!\u00a0 Oh\u00a0frabjous day!\u00a0\u00a0There is now a new audio Doctor Who<\/a> episode centered around the Space Elevator!!<\/p>\n

Yes, Doctor Who fans, ’tis true, the Good Doctor, Jamie and Victoria Waterfield visit the Artsutanov Space Elevator, anchored in Sumatra on the earth end and\u00a0the “Sky\u00a0Satellite”\u00a0in geosynchronous orbit at the\u00a0space end.\u00a0 This Space\u00a0Elevator is\u00a0electrically\u00a0conductive, batteries are used on emergency climbers\u00a0(which get to the top in no time) and has all sorts of other heresies,\u00a0but who cares?\u00a0 It’s Doctor Who!\u00a0 This episode, like\u00a0all Doctor Who episodes, has villains, narrow escapes, stupid moves by the protagonists (which never get them in unrecoverable trouble)\u00a0and much derring-do.\u00a0 It’s\u00a070 minutes of great fun,\u00a0outrageous plot twists, sexual innuendos (complete with\u00a0a “scantily clad, female security guard”), glorious non-sequiturs and, the dialogue – oh, the dialogue!<\/p>\n

“I come from the Space between the worlds”<\/p>\n

“You will be converted – you will become part of us!”<\/p>\n

“Now, let’s not be hasty…”<\/p>\n

“The creature has consumed the Doctor!”<\/p>\n

“They have to be completely insulated!”<\/p>\n

“We’ll be returning earth to clear, sunny skies.”<\/p>\n

“Thank God for the thick, white foam!”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
