In this issue, Liftport’s Research Director, Tom Nugent, shares with us slides from two of his presentations at last week’s ISDC 2006 conference (Bob Munck alert – these are .pdf files). He also talks about the new interns arriving at LiftPort and tells us that the long-awaited LiftPort book has finally arrived!! I’ve been looking forward to this book for some time and will be posting a review of it in the next several days.
Also, Andrew Becker is looking for opportunities to use LiftPort’s HALE platform to help site wind power farms.

I’ve been spending a great deal of time in Room 101, and I’ve come to love
Big BrotherPDF.These two files aren’t bad; they’re essentially PowerPoint presentations transcribed into PDF. Large fonts, pictures, landscape format — all of it works quite well. Of course, it would have used less bandwidth and rendered more quickly as HTML, but we’re taking baby steps here.
Where’s the Preview key here? I have to do my own formatting and hope I got it right.
Bob, I don’t know – I suspect their isn’t one for this Comment editor. If I can’t find one, I’ll figure out a way to integrate another editor (be warned, I’m a complete novice with php and it will probably take me a while to figure out how to do it).
